The organizer of the race, Juregimnin Jenimpazy, the Public Foundation Heart Center Foundation, within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation, handed over a grant of 15 million tenge to the Republican Center for the Coordination of Transplantation.

The annual Juregimnin Jenimpazy running festival has significantly expanded its ranks this year — from 4.2 to 4.7 thousand participants. Each participant ran a distance of 1 km, 3 km and 10 km to express solidarity with patients who are waiting for a transplant.

According to official data, 4,117 people need heart, kidney, liver and lung transplants today. Over 3,000 are waiting for kidney transplantation, 145 for heart transplantation. At the same time, more than 300 people drop out of the Waiting List every year without waiting for their donor.

"We are the only country in Central Asia where transplantation and post-mortem donation have been developed. This is one of the indicators of the country's level of development. Exactly 13 years have passed since the first heart transplant. Since then, the number of operations has been growing significantly. The Juregimnin Jenimpazy project is carried out to awaken an understanding of donation in society, which speaks to the value of this project," emphasized the founder of the Foundation and Chairman of the Board of UMC, Dr. Yuri Pya.

A well-known cardiac surgeon in Kazakhstan, who performed the first heart transplant in the country in 2012 and under whose leadership 104 transplants have already been performed by Kazakhstani cardiac surgeons, traveled a distance of 1 km together with the team of the UMC Heart Center.

Along with doctors and caring citizens who came from all over the country to participate in the race, there were also recipients who had undergone a transplant and are now actively involved in sports.

The initiator and organizer of the race is the Heart Center Foundation, whose activities are aimed at the development of cardiac surgery and transplantation.

As Murat Zauyrov, director of the Public Foundation, noted, funds from the general partner of the race and from the registration of participants, as well as last year, were sent to the Republican Center for Transplant Coordination and will partially go to educational and educational projects of the Foundation.

The Foundation's activities can be found in detail on the website www.hcf.kz

"We run the race every year and we see that the society responds and understands the importance of developing transplantology. This year, 500 more people ran than last year. Our task was to close the information vacuum on this topic. I think we've dealt with it. In addition, as part of the Memorandum of Cooperation, the fund has transferred a grant worth 15 million tenge to the Republican Center for Transplant Coordination," he summed up the results of the race.

By the way, preparations for the race began long before the event itself. For two months, free training sessions were held in the Botanical Garden near the Dar installation in memory of organ donors, in which about 1 thousand people took part. Each training session was made special by the partners of the race, giving away large prizes. The participants of the race also took part in a prize draw after completing their distances.

In general, the race was supported by small and large businesses, as well as second-tier banks. The general sponsor of the race was Home Credit Bank.

"The bank's team and I are proud to be a part of this important initiative. It is necessary to inform people about the possibility of organ donation and transplantation. For those who are on the Waiting List, this is vital. As a team, we ran this race for life and for our social responsibility," commented Gaukhar Kerimova, Head of PR& ESG HCB.

The race has been held since 2018. It started with a bike ride, which was attended by 60 people. Today it is a large-scale movement with an important social mission, which is supported by both the public sector, private business, and caring Kazakhstanis.
