The event brought together more than 400 participants from different countries and became an important stage in the development of the rehabilitation service of Kazakhstan.
From September 25 to 27, 2024, Astana hosted an international conference on the topic "Multidisciplinary approach in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of neurological diseases".
The conference was organized by the National Center for Child Rehabilitation in cooperation with Astana Medical University and with the support of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This event became part of the WHO global plan on epilepsy and other neurological diseases, and was also timed to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the Astana Medical University.
More than 400 participants, including doctors, neurologists, rehabilitologists, educators and social workers, spoke at the conference. Among the speakers were scientists from France, Italy, Australia, China, Turkey, India and other countries. The main topic of discussion was an integrated approach to the prevention, diagnosis and rehabilitation of patients with neurological diseases.
During the event, innovative methods of treatment and rehabilitation were presented, as well as standards of rehabilitation care and the development of clinical protocols were discussed.
The conference included practical workshops, which were attended not only by specialists, but also by parents of children with special needs. For the first time, the best specialists in the field of neurology and rehabilitation were awarded the Altyn Shipager Award.
The resolution of the conference will become the basis for the further development of rehabilitation services in Kazakhstan.
