The capital of Kazakhstan is actively promoting itself as an attractive destination for medical tourism.
To this end, the Akimat of Astana city, represented by the Department for Investment and Business Development, organized another medical tour for representatives from the CIS countries, reports inbusiness.kz .
This time, specialists from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan became guests of Astana. During the familiarization program, they visited the leading medical institutions of the city, got acquainted with modern equipment and technologies, and also met with leading doctors.
The purpose of the tour is to demonstrate the high level of medical services in Astana and popularize it as a promising area for medical tourism in the region. The medical tour is part of a broader program to promote Astana as a medical center. The program includes annual international events. The Akimat of Astana city plans to conduct medical tours for representatives from different countries annually. Meetings with experts from all CIS countries have already been held last year.
As part of the program, doctors and medical agents from different countries are invited to Astana to familiarize themselves with medical institutions and the city's capabilities. Special attention is paid to the display of modern technologies and medical achievements in Astana in order to demonstrate its competitiveness in the international medical tourism market. Astana has great potential for the development of medical tourism. Modern medical institutions equipped with advanced technologies operate in the city, highly qualified doctors work, and competitive prices for medical services are available.
The akimat is confident that the implementation of the strategy to promote Astana as a medical center will lead to an increase in the flow of medical tourists to the city, as well as to strengthen the reputation of Astana as a center of medical tourism in the region.
The positive results are already noticeable. As it became known today, one of the clinics in Astana has performed more than 100 operations on foreign patients since the beginning of the year. The Mayor's Office of Astana is confident in the success of the project and plans to continue actively promoting Astana as a medical center for the CIS countries and other regions of the world.
