The meeting took place in connection with the completion of Ms. Leach's diplomatic mission in Kazakhstan.
During the conversation, T.Sultangaziev expressed his sincere gratitude to the Ambassador for her significant contribution to the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of healthcare.
Stressing the importance of sustainable ties between the two countries, he noted the successful implementation of joint initiatives and research projects in the field of healthcare carried out during Ms. Leach's tenure.
The parties discussed the results of cooperation and prospects for further cooperation, noting the need to continue the initiatives launched and strengthen the strategic partnership in the field of healthcare.
Special attention was paid to the regulation of marginal prices for medicines and medical devices.
During the meeting, it was noted that Kazakhstan is interested in attracting investments and innovations aimed at improving the quality and accessibility of medical services, developing healthcare infrastructure, modernizing and equipping medical organizations, conducting joint scientific research, developing the medical and pharmaceutical industries, exchanging experience and improving the skills of specialists.
At the end of the meeting, the Kazakh side proposed to consider the possibility of signing an Interdepartmental agreement between Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom in the field of healthcare in 2026.
Noting Catherine Leach's personal contribution to the development of Kazakh-British cooperation in the field of healthcare, the First Vice Minister presented the diplomat with the badge "Densaulyk aktau isine koskan ulesi ushin".
