The National Center of Neurosurgery officially opened its doors to all Kazakhstanis and guests of the near and far abroad on July 01, 2008. During this time, the National Center of Neurosurgery has introduced 70 new technologies in the treatment of neurosurgical patients, treated more than 60 thousand patients, performed more than 40 thousand operations, many of them managed to return to normal life after complex neurosurgical interventions. In 2021, a modern complex "Gamma knife" made in Sweden appeared in the Department of Radiology and Radiosurgery of the National Center of Neurosurgery in Astana. Kazakhstan has become the third country in the CIS and the first in Central Asia to have such high-tech equipment. Gamma Knife is a radiosurgical device for the treatment of tumors, vascular and functional diseases of the brain. Kazakhstanis will be able to receive such treatment FREE of CHARGE according to the quota. For medical tourists from other countries, this service is available on a paid basis.
