Astana Hosts the 10th World Congress of the Walter E. Dandy Neurosurgical Society
On June 27–28, 2025, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Astana, hosted the 10th World Congress of the Walter E. Dandy Neurosurgical Society. The event brought together more than 400 leading neurosurgeons, scientists, and medical specialists from over 20 countries, including the United States, Germany, Japan, Turkey, Russia, and China.
Hosting the Congress in Astana marked a significant event, reaffirming the high level of development of Kazakhstan’s neurosurgery and its recognition by the international medical community. The event was organized by the National Center for Neurosurgery JSC with the support of the Kazakh Association of Neurosurgeons — a member of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies, as well as the European and Asian Neurosurgical Associations.
Program and Key Directions of the Congress
During the Congress, more than 40 presentations by international experts were held in the capital. Advanced clinical and scientific developments were showcased, along with workshops and plenary sessions. Kazakh scientists presented unique research projects, including the development of 3D-printed custom spinal implants. This project was implemented through a grant collaboration with “Ghalam” LLP and the Institute of Traumatology and Biomechanics (Ulm, Germany).
