For the first time, intrauterine intervention was performed in Kazakhstan to correct a congenital defect of the urinary system in a fetus. The operation was performed at the National Scientific Center for Motherhood and Childhood at the UMC clinic as part of a master class with the participation of foreign specialists.
At the 19th week of pregnancy, the woman was diagnosed with a fetal malformation. The prenatal council decided on the need for intrauterine drainage of the fetal bladder. This is necessary to prevent pulmonary hypoplasia and maintain normal kidney function in the unborn child.
The operation was successful. The patient's condition is stable, dynamic monitoring and monitoring of fetal development are planned.
Fetal surgery is a new direction in medicine, including operations and invasive interventions in utero to prevent mortality and disability of newborns. Such procedures are carried out in the world's leading medical centers.
Now such surgical interventions are carried out at the National Scientific Center for Motherhood and Childhood, where all conditions are created for this. In the future, it is planned to carry out operations to correct diaphragmatic hernia, TTS syndrome, sacrococcygeal teratoma and other malformations, the effectiveness of which has been proven by world clinical practice.
