As part of the Open Days, everyone will be able to get a qualified oncologist's consultation for free and, if indicated, undergo a low-dose computed tomography (CT) of the lungs. These services are aimed at early detection of possible signs of lung cancer and raising public awareness of the importance of regular checkups.
Lung cancer is one of the most common oncological diseases in Kazakhstan. About 3,500 new cases are detected annually.
The main cause of this disease is smoking, which accounts for about 90% of all cases. It is important to note that early detection of the disease significantly increases the chances of successful treatment.
Kazakhstani oncologists strongly recommend that smokers between the ages of 45 and 69 undergo lung CT every year. This method allows you to detect cancer at an early stage, which significantly increases the chances of successful treatment and recovery.
It is recommended to seek advice in the presence of the following symptoms:
- Rapid fatigue, which did not exist before
- Discomfort in the chest
- Poor exercise tolerance
- Persistent dry cough
-Chest pain
- Shortness of breath
- In some cases, hemoptysis
