The opening of the National Coordination Center for Emergency Medicine (NCCEM) has elevated Kazakhstan’s emergency medical care system to a new level through a cluster-based model. The emergency and urgent care system includes a unique multidisciplinary hospital, a medical aviation service equipped with new aircraft, and a nationwide coordination system for ambulance services.
On June 27–28, 2025, the city of Astana hosted the 10th World Congress of the Walter E. Dandy Neurosurgical Society. The event brought together more than 400 leading neurosurgeons, scientists, and medical experts from 20 countries, including the United States, Germany, Japan, Turkey, Russia, China, and others.
